…2 days later back on a plane

That resolution didn’t last too long… I am back on the road and returning to Shanghai… I only spent 2 days in the “ollo”. Our apartment is almost ready to move into. We purchased TV and sound system yesterday. The beds, fridge and table are in. Perhaps Rox will be able to move in sometime this week while I’ll be away. She’s as sick of being at the hotel as I am. And don’t mention the Chinese food either. There’s only so much bok choy you can eat in a year.

Yesterday, I toured the yard to see progress (or lack-of) during my absence from the yard over the past couple of weeks. I wasn’t surprised to see so many workers turn their head when I walk past them but I realized that there are specific workers who grin and shout: “helloooo” in various tones and intonations ~ hello is likely the only English word they know. So, I finally realized that these overly happy workers are likely to be from the painting department and they must be high on paint fumes… It’s actually very strange to see.
