Daily Commute
I'm finding it difficult to write anything new about my stint here... the days at the yard are too long and for some time, they have been 7/7... So, the only different thing is the daily trip from/to the appartment to the yard. So, as an image is worth a thousand words, I have prepared a montage of pictures taken the other day from the bus on my way to the yard.
From left to right, top to bottom:
- Farm houses about mid-way
- Houndreds of 'greenhouses' covered at night with blankets of hay and rolled-up during the day
- On our way through the Great Wall (15 mins from yard)
- The beach the other side of the Great Wall (where it all begins!)
- More farm houses (10 mins from yard)
- Small tractor and restaurant (8 mins from yard)
- More green houses (5 mins from yard)
- Main drag into yard (2 mins from yard)
- Street vendors selling breakfasts from their carts (1 min from yard)*
* The 15 cent breakfast is a concoction of a flat bread, some egg, coriander, meat, hot chili sauce that is rolle-up and stufed into a small plastic bag. I tried the meatless version one day and it wasn't all that bad, but it was too early in the morning for me to be gobbing down hot sauce. At least it's fresh, warm and made on the spot...
