Rubbing shoulders with the who’s who in the cie.
Last past week was another tiring week…. But in a totally different way. There was a big pow-wow of VIPs who came over for Naming ceremonies at both yards. So I got to accompany the group at both yards and shmoose a little. I must admit, I never lived so poshly: a night at the JW Marriott in Shanghai with a formidable view from the 59th floor, eating fine French cuisine with several glasses of Sancerre, flying in and out of Xi’an in a day only to spend a few hours at the Terra Cotta warriors, etc. Unfortunately, the who’s who don’t get to really know China, but fortunately for me, I got to change my routine and sleep in REALLY comfortable beds for four nights. The weather was fabulous and the company was, for the most past, really nice to be with. All in all, it was a great trip for all. Here are a few pics taken during the week.

The picture of the guy sleeping on the truck was taken from my ride ~ doing 100km/h on the highway.
